DRS 57303 “Pride of Carlisle” and 37059  came down from Crewe light engine yesterday to collect a short rake of coaches from Laira Depot. These will be refurbished into TransPennineExpress colours for use on their Liverpool-Hull services which will be powered by Class 68 locomotives. Hot on the heels of a GWR HST the  locos pulled into the warren station to allow a Cross Country Voyager to pass and then were on their way again in under 4 minutes. Fortunately for the return journey today they passed along the sea wall at Dawlish during a sunny break between heavy rain showers. Not much “thrash” to please the enthusiasts as they needed to slow for another pathing stop again in the Dawlish Warren platform loop.
