Well what a Christmas Eve on Dawlish Beach! Although the day started with some very rough seas and heavy rain by mid morning Christmas eve was far more like a Summer’s day! Pity that the temperature didn’t match it even if it is very warm for December. It really has been a great day to escape the wrapping and stretch the legs instead. The forecast for the next few days is very unsettled but there will be some strong winds. Be warned if you are walking on the wall on Sunday as the wind could well be headed straight at us and will make it impassable for a few hours either side of high tide. Hopefully it will be good viewing though.
The last train tonight, not including the Santa Special will be passing Dawlish around 10.30 pm and the first one due after Christmas will be at 07.22 with stock being moved around. The first passenger service will be the 09.09 Exeter St Davids to Paignton service.
We hope you have enjoyed our Santa clip from last year and if you haven’t yet seen it then please check our Facebook page.
Finally, provided nothing reportable happens between now and Boxing Day may Neil and I wish You, Your Families and Friends a very Happy Christmas,
Beautiful shot that….Merry Christmas 😉
