The video we posted last night has drawn a lot of attention and i am delighted to say that the driver of the said train has found time to comment. Thank you very much Derek for your words and explanation of the safety proceedures that are put in to place during these conditions.
“I was the Driver. We had what they call a level 1 running in place.
Where by trains on the down line are restricted to 20 mph and accompanied by a member of the Network rail team to assess the situation and whether to bring in a level 2 where by all trains run on the up line. Last night was interesting but I have had it a lot worse. I can assure everyone that safety of the train and the passengers is paramount. Nothing is left to chance.”
It’s always great to hear from those directly involved with the running of the railway and i’m certain many DB’ers will be delighted to see a driver’s comments and viewpoint.
If you haven’t yet seen the clip then please do have a look on our Facebook page.
