It’s time to have a look back over the last few days and enjoy a few of the pictures sent in. The weather has been a little foggy in the mornings but today’s sunrise was quite special i thought. The thunderstorms that threatened just never appeared and instead the afternoons have been quite summer like.
The railway has been a bit busier with the Radio 1 Big weekend at Powderham Castle requiring extra trains to take 100,000 people to Starcross and special HST’s as well as units have run between Exeter and Newton Abbot to cope with the demand.
Saturday saw the usual summer running of the sleeper day coaches behind a 57 which is always the popular trip for the rail enthusiasts and Sunday saw the Railvac returning late after a night visit to Hemerdon.
Starting off with some water sports from Eric, Canoes and Paddle boards enjoying the best of Saturdays conditions.

The late running Colas 70809 with the Railvac not wasting any time as it rushes through Teignmouth station after delaying the service trains from Plymouth for nearly 2 hours! Video by Nick Campbell
The Railvac was almost 2 hours late returning, apparently because of a problem with the driver and caused a backlog of trains having to wait at Plymouth. Frustrating for those endeavouring to get to Powderham for Radio 1’s Big Weekend no doubt. Colas 70809 being the loco concerned. Colin Campbell
