The regular Thursday evening clay train saunters along the sea wall with the first portion of the clay train that will travel up to Bescot nr Birmingham overnight. After depositing the wagons in Exeter riverside sidings the locomotive will go back to St Blazey and collect the remainder of the load and be back just after 1am to make up the full quota of the load. The final destinations are normally in the Potteries but at times some go through the channel tunnel to Europe.
