Today saw the last of this year’s planned steam tours but sadly the steam turned to diesel owing to the Duchess of Sutherland having a mishap at Butterley and derailing. Unfortunately this happened too late for another steam locomotive to be substituted and so the tour went ahead under the power of West Coast 57314. If nothing else then it was a glorious day to be on the wall with bright warm sunshine reminding us of summer.

The following is the footage from our cameras and Nick Campbell who was at Teignmouth. We just about managed to keep the light long enough for the return journey.

I thought i would share a still of the final pass as at least the lights look pretty.
