On Friday evening at Penzance the GWR engine 57603 Tintagel Castle failed before starting the Night riviera sleeper train service. The service was fulfilled by an HST without the bed facility. The carriage stock was taken up to Laira depot at Plymouth on Saturday and this morning the rescue engine 57604 Pendennis Castle ran the empty stock up to Paddington with 57603 on the rear so as to be ready to run tonight’s Sleeper train to Penzance. As you can see today wasn’t ideal for photography with quite a bit of mist. Below are pictures and a video
