It’s been another busy day on Dawlish Beach with the unofficially named storm Doris creating quite a spectacle during our free to view period. The conditions have proved to be very testing and Colin sadly suffered video failure while at Dawlish station today and his camera became a little misted too. Our main cameras have been somewhat waterlogged and salt sprayed but i guess it has to be accepted in these conditions. At least we managed a little extra from our roaming cams and we hope you have enjoyed our coverage. Here are a few pictures from today.
Starting with some from Colin, we had the Railvac being taken to Lostwithiel by a Colas class 66. Seen here chasing a unit into Kennaway tunnel after being sent down the up line.

Another shot from Colin of Marine Parade. The Blenheim is the pink building on the right of the buildings and is the location for one of our cameras.

Back to Rockstone and a very dramatic picture by Colin
After the Harry Patch powercar suffered an axle failure at Castle Cary, the remainder of the HST set was sent back to Laira looking a little odd. There is a video on the Facebook page.

Next up is the view from our static cameras. The conditions took a while to get going but it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Next set of pictures are from Lea Mount where we set up with the roaming camera. It gave us some fantastic high and long shots although the definition is lost with so much spray in the air.

And finally we introduced Carcam! The full video is on the Facebook page but we had a trip along Marine Parade, around a short lap of Dawlish to capture the foam under the viaduct and across the road and back to Marine parade.

We hope you have enjoyed this look back and please remember we have a number of videos available on the Facebook page if you want to have a look at those too.
