Nick Campbell was on hand last night to video the 5 car Hitachi Class 800 IEP number 800003 on a further test run this time from the North Pole depot to Plymouth and back. I hasten to add this is not a replacement for Santa’s sledge and reindeer but North Pole is the name of the main depot in London where the new fleet will be based. Unfortunately this was not the unit (800004) in the green

I’m amazed how you lads know when to go out filming. What’s the secret? Barry.
I use the website http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk Choose the option go to search page and then choose Detailed. Fill in the location box with where you want to see the trains and then the time and the type of services you are interested in the services drop down box. On the page that comes up when you Submit you will see blue typing under the ID column Click on that for any train you are interested in. It will show where the train is with heavier type in the right hand column. If you want to eliminate all the passenger services choose Non-passenger in the services drop down box. It will still advise you of special trains steam or diesel and also empty stock movements of GWR trains but includes freight & NR Infastructure trains.
Another useful site is http://www.opentraintimes.com/maps where amongst many other areas is a map of the line between Exeter St. Davids and Liskeard which shows where all the trains are as they are running. Good luck.
