A rather dull and misty day but what can we expect on a Bank Holiday! 60163 Tornado at the head of a ten coach train making good progress along the Dawlish sea wall and seen again as it entered Cornwall. This was the first time it has passed over the Royal Albert Bridge at Saltash and was obeying the severe speed restriction until able to open up the regulator again as it reaches Saltash station. Videos are from Colin, Kim with the SR Drone, the DB cams and Michelle at the Royal Albert Bridge. Thanks to all.

Following a little way behind the express was the locomotive which will take the train back to London Paddington this evening. 59202 named “Alan Meddows Taylor MD Mendip Rail Limited” is seen below working “wrong line” as it rounds the bend at Langstone Rock to allow a HST to pass it on the Down line. It will regain its correct Down line path just after Teignmouth station. It regularly provides a useful time saver when the line is busy if there are no trains in the area approaching on the Up.

The class 59 was pulling Tornado’s support coach.
