Todays railtour started from Wolverhampton just before 6.30am and traveled down via Birmingham, Kidderminster, Worcester and Cheltenham to Kingswear to see the Dartmouth Regatta celebrations. It arrived at it’s destination at 1pm for a 4 hour stay before a six hour return journey. Not a great hardship when traveling in Pullman style and they have had excellent weather for their trip. The locomotives working in Top & Tail formation were West Coast Railways 57601 & 57313 the latter still having the recess in the front which housed the Dellner coupler from the days when it was a Virgin Thunderbird loco named Tracy Island and used to rescue Virgin Voyagers and Pendolinos when needed.

Nick was at the skew bridge at the end of Teignmouth sea wall. You can see part of Sprey Point which is approx mid way between the Teignmouth promenade and the Holcome end of the wall. The rock formation in the distance are the Parson and Clerk rocks.

The video footage was from the DawlishBeach San Remo and Blenheim cameras and the Teignmouth one from Nick Campbell’s Samsung Galaxy 7 phone.
