The footbridge, there it was……..gone, as the Old Oak Common HST Depot will be when the well loved HST’s have been replaced by the new Hitachi 800’s.

Just the recesses at the top of the stairwells now the footbridge span has gone for renovation. Well it is 122 years old and deserves a bit of TLC.

Unfortunately on the couple of occasions the newly decorated HST 43093 has passed on the down line it has been in virtual darkness and I expect it will be returning early on Tuesday morning as it did on Saturday so no opportunity for a photograph for me as yet. Nick recorded it tonight as it made its way down to Laira as empty coaching stock from Taunton but the design of the front profile of eight Great Western locomotive legends on the leading unit is impossible to make out as it passes through Teignmouth station.
