The continuing rail replacements are still in action in Cornwall and the video shows the 6G98 Westbury -Burngullow junction 600ft length continuous welded rail train as it passes through Dawlish and Teignmouth at 5.40pm July 21st and also it’s return at 7.20am today July 22nd.  Locomotives working in top and tail formation were GBRf 66732 named “GBRf The First Decade 1999-2009 John Smith-MD”  and Colas 66848. The video shows the hazards of railway photography where a few seconds either way can make the difference between a successful shot and a photographic disaster. Our man Nick was on Teignmouth station and nearly got “bombed” out by a Class 802 IET express and then our local Dawlish “celebrity” Colin Marsden railway author and photographer was fortunate when the 4-car DMU Exmouth to Paignton service only narrowly missied ruining his day when it set off from Dawlish station!
